Image to 3D Model Generator

Upload a picture of a prop, item, vehicle or character and get a textured 3D model back in about four minutes. GameDevGenie uses Tripo v3.1 to build the mesh and its PBR textures, keeps the polygon count within the face limit you choose, and lets you inspect the result in the browser before you download GLB or FBX.

How to Turn an Image Into a 3D Model

  1. 1

    Upload an image

Use a clear PNG, JPG or WebP of one object. Concept art, renders and photos all work.

  2. 2

    Describe what it shows

A short description such as “wooden treasure chest with iron bands” is required. It guides the model and is checked by our content filters.

  3. 3

    Choose quality and face limit

Standard (240 credits) gives HD PBR textures as GLB or FBX. Fine (360 credits) adds more detailed geometry and a quad mesh, exported as FBX. Pick 5,000, 10,000 or 20,000 faces.

  4. 4

    Preview and download

After 3–5 minutes, orbit the model, check the wireframe and bounding box, then download the original file or export GLB or OBJ.

Game-Ready 3D Models From a Single Image

PBR textures

Models come with colour, normal, roughness and metallic textures for realistic lighting in modern engines.

Face limit you control

Cap the mesh at 5k, 10k or 20k faces to fit mobile, Roblox or PC budgets.

Two quality tiers

Standard for most props; Fine for detailed geometry and clean quad topology.

In-browser preview

Rotate, zoom, toggle wireframe and see the polygon count before you spend time importing.

2D to 3D: Tips for Better Results

Use one object per image, centred, on a plain background, seen from the front or at a three-quarter angle. Avoid text, busy backgrounds and several objects in one picture.

Clean concept art with even lighting gives the best textures. If the back of the object matters, describe it — the model has to imagine what the image does not show.

How to Import an FBX or GLB Into Roblox Studio

In Roblox Studio, choose File › Import, select the FBX from GameDevGenie, check the preview and the import settings, and click Import. The model arrives with its mesh and PBR textures. It is modelled about one metre across and a stud is 28 cm, so set Scale Unit to Meters in the import settings, or scale the model up after importing.

Roblox’s importer documentation lists FBX, glTF (.gltf) and OBJ files, so use FBX for Roblox. A Roblox mesh can have at most 20,000 triangles, and every face-limit option stays within that. The model’s textures are 4096×4096 while Roblox caps PBR textures at 1024×1024, so you may want to resize them to 1024 (for example in Blender) before importing.

For Roblox 3D models, 10,000 faces is a good default: detailed enough for props and light enough for phones.

Using the Model in Unity, Unreal and Blender

Unity and Unreal import FBX directly and read GLB with their glTF importers. Blender opens both through File › Import, which is handy if you want to adjust the mesh or textures before using it.

What You Get

Image to 3D Model FAQ

Is the image to 3D model generator free?

No. A model costs 240 credits (Standard) or 360 credits (Fine), more than the free daily credits. If a generation fails, the credits are refunded automatically.

How long does it take?

Usually 3–5 minutes. You can keep working in other tools while the model is generated.

Should I choose GLB or FBX?

FBX for Roblox, Unity and Unreal — Roblox’s importer documents FBX, glTF and OBJ. GLB is a single file with textures inside and suits Godot, Blender and the web. The Fine tier exports FBX only.

What images work best?

One object on a plain background, in focus and evenly lit, seen from the front or at a three-quarter angle.

Do you keep my uploaded image?

No. The image is sent to the model provider to make your model and is not stored in our database. Download the model file soon — the provider keeps it only for a limited time.
